John RedwoodJohn Redwood
Chairman of the Investment Committee
John Redwood was an investment analyst, manager and Director for Robert Fleming and for NM Rothschild in the 1970s and 1980s. Since then he has been a Pension trustee, a member of the Investment Committee of an Oxford College, the Chairman of an investment company and a non-executive Director of a hedge fund and an Investment Trust.

He was an early advocate of tracker funds to cut the costs of equity investment. He has written extensively on economic and investment subjects, including “Popular Capitalism” (1988 about privatisation and debt swap); “The Global marketplace” (1993 setting out how computers and telecoms innovation would power globalisation); Superpower Struggles (2005 looking at the rise of China); and “Freeing Britain to compete” (2007, a study of how to improve competitiveness, as Chairman of a Policy review).

He is currently a Distinguished Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford and a lecturer and commentator on economic and investment matters. He holds a doctorate from Oxford University and the IMC Investment Management qualification.

Christopher Aldous
Chief Executive
Christopher Aldous first entered the world of wealth management when he joined Cazenove in 1981.  This was the beginning of a 20 year career performing senior roles in well-known City firms. He became a Director of Barclays de Zoete Wedd in 1987 managing large institutional accounts and worked in London, Paris and Sydney before joining UBS as an Executive Director in 1993. In 1998, he joined Robertson Stephens, the US technology investment bank, as a Managing Director where he established and ran their European equity sales and research department.  In 2001 he broke away from the mainstream and co-founded Absolute Fund Management where he was Chief Executive.  There he also managed a low volatility fund of hedge funds designed for high net worth, family office and charity investors and wrote many articles urging the wider use of hedge funds in portfolio construction.  He read business studies and French at De Montfort University, Leicester and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment

Guy DaviesGuy Davies
Head of Charities
Guy Davies has a background in investing for charities, trusts and family wealth.  He was Head of Charities at Barclays Wealth where he was responsible for the investment management of charity endowments and the development of the philanthropy for high net worth Individuals. After a commission in the British Army, he managed private client, charitable and smaller institutional funds at BZW Portfolio Management.  He developed a new Wealth Management business for UBS Warburg in the UK and was a Director at Lazard Asset Management and Baring Asset Management focusing on portfolio management, business development and client service for charities, trusts and family wealth.  He is a Fellow of the Securities Institute, a member of the Charity Finance Directors Group, a trustee of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Army Central Fund and acts as an investment advisor to the Armed Forces Common Investment Fund and other charities. 

Jane BransgroveJane Bransgrove
Director/Investment Manager
Jane Bransgrove worked as an investment manager at Sarasin Chiswell (formerly Cantrade) for over 13 years with responsibility for private clients, charities and investment strategy implementation.  She is an Associate member of the CFA Society of the UK and holds a degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Loughborough University.

 

Lynn Hutchinson
Assistant Director/Custodian Manager
Lynn Hutchinson joined Cantrade in 1992 which subsequently became Sarasin Chiswell. She was responsible for the investment administration of pension funds, corporate, private client and charity portfolios, including reporting, dealing and  investment strategy implementation. She holds the Investment Management Certificate qualification.
