Some larger funds see that the Trustees or Investment Committee need advice and regular monitoring of their strategy. Evercore Pan-Asset can help them choose an appropriate asset mix for their requirements, can attend meetings and keep them informed, and can warn if changes are needed. Specialist managers and funds can be used to execute the agreed policy. Evercore Pan-Asset can assist in questioning and monitoring the specialist managers.
Some larger funds wish to keep their better specialist managers, but also want to be able to shift strategy from time to time. Evercore Pan-Asset recommends augmenting its possible role as Strategic Adviser to the fund with management of a balancing fund. If, for example, Evercore Pan-Asset and the Trustees think the overall fund needs more in Asian equity or more in cash then the balancing fund can be used to achieve this decided change without disrupting the other managers.
